Philippians 4:9 “You know the teachings I gave you, and you know what you heard me say and saw me do. So follow my example. And God, who gives peace, will be with you.”

1 Corinthians 11:1 “You must follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”

John 13:15 “I have set the example, and you should do for each other exactly what I have done for you.”

I have pastored for nearly 15 years and one of the most astounding things I have heard people say about not assembling together is this:  “there’s too many hypocrites there!  I don’t want to be a part of that!”  My reaction is this:  “Then be the one people will point to and say ‘he or she is a Christian!”

It is true we have many people coming to the assembly that say they are a Christian but we need to understand something.  The church of Jesus Christ is pure, holy, filled with love, nurturing, and good.  But, not every one that comes to the assembly is the church.  What do I mean?  Simple, let me explain.

The church of Jesus Christ or Yahushua HaMashiach is one who is saved by grace, one that conducts themselves in the manner consistent with the lifestyle and teachings of Jesus.  That is a very high standard and most continuously fail but, with the aid of the Holy Spirit and the abundant grace of God, press toward that mark or standard of living.

Not everyone that comes to the assembly of the church is Christians or Christ-like.  Many are on a journey to become so and many are social-christians, and yes there are some hypocrites there too.  But you be the one that will set the example of Christ in place so many around you will know the way to the Way!
